“Joy has been with our family for nearly 5 years.”
To whom it may concern,
Please accept this letter as a formal recommendation of Maria Rowena Six (“Joy”) as a wonderful nanny and childcare provider. Joy has been with our family for nearly 5 years and has taken care of our twin boys full time since they were 3 months old. From our very first interaction with Joy, we could tell that she was different from the other nanny candidates we interviewed. When Joy arrived for her interview, she immediately went to interact with the boys and even helped with changing a diaper and playing with them.
Her knowledge and skill with early childhood twins, in particular, was immensely reassuring. As working professionals, it was difficult for the two of us to hand over so much of the childcare to someone else. However, over the last several years, it has become very clear to us that the different attributes and characteristics that Joy brings to our children has made our decision the best one for our family. She has helped allow both of our children to reach mental and physical milestones ahead of normal - even as babies born at 35 weeks.
Although it would have been much easier for her to keep the kids at home and occupied, she would go out of her way to keep them engaged with activities outside. Not only would she almost daily take them to playgrounds, parks, museums, libraries, classes, etc, but she would often be the one to spearhead finding and researching the classes for us too. We truly do not know where she got all of her energy from, but it helped our children develop and get a wide exposure to activities.
Joy has always been reliable, flexible, and incredibly organized. With all the other daily life and work stresses that can happen, we have never had to worry about our children. Her organizational skills meant that she was always on top of feeding schedules as infants (written logs with time and volume), nap time routines, and activities. She also kept their wardrobe up to date and their rooms clean and set a great example for our boys who, adorably, now walk around the house reminding us to close cabinets and throw away wrappers or napkins that fell on the floor! Even when the boys were younger and taking 2-4 hour naps in the day, Joy
kept busy and would go above and beyond to keep our house tidy by organizing our fridge and pantry, doing our laundry or changing our bed sheets. Her reliability is demonstrated by the simple fact that she only
called off sick a handful of times in the past five years even though we provide paid sick time. Any time she wanted to take a vacation or schedule an appointment she would always provide ample notice for us to plan. Similarly, if we ever needed to change our schedule with little notice, Joy would accommodate us and come early, stay late, watch them over nights or weekends, etc. The amount of stress relief she provided us with her flexibility when a patient appointment ran late (or we simply wanted a night out to spend time together!) was invaluable.
We also always feel assured that Joy will always have the best interest of our boys at all times. She is diligent in their care for them, and particularly when out of the house, she is extra cautious. She is also a strong advocate for them, and does not hesitate to protect them. Although we are excited that our children are starting school this fall, in many ways, writing this letter of recommendation reminds us of how much we, and our children, will lose from our lives when she moves on to a new family.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, Sincerely,
Wenfei W.
